Fast internet speeds are becoming increasingly common as we age, but the speed can be limited by the complexity of the internet infrastructure we use and the types of services we access.
While Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and other popular streaming services offer a faster speed than what we can get on our own, there are some notable exceptions to the rule.
Here are 10 ways to enjoy the fastest internet available anywhere.
1.
Hulu.com.
Hulu, the world’s largest internet streaming service, is available on almost every major platform including iOS and Android, and in some cases even on the internet.
If you can’t find the best streaming service you’re looking for, there’s also the option to rent a TV or mobile device from Hulu.
Hulu’s mobile apps are also available for download on Android and iOS devices, and they’re available in many languages.
Hulu is the only streaming service that’s available to download from a computer or mobile, and Hulu’s live TV stream is the best option for watching on-demand content in your living room.
2.
Amazon Prime.
Amazon’s Prime service, which costs $99 a year for a monthly subscription, allows you to stream unlimited movies, TV shows, and more, and it offers unlimited storage on your devices, too.
While Prime doesn’t have the fastest data speeds, Prime’s streaming is also the best of the options.
Prime’s internet speed is the highest in the US and Canada, and Prime’s mobile service is the fastest available.
The only downside to Prime is that it’s not available everywhere.
3.
Netflix.
Netflix’s subscription-based service, with its annual fee, is the most popular, but it’s available in more than 190 countries and territories.
Netflix is the largest video streaming service on the planet, and its video content is available to any device that supports a video standard that supports video streaming.
Netflix, the biggest video service, has a very fast internet speed.
4.
Hulu Plus.
HuluPlus is available from most major US and Canadian mobile and broadband providers, and from Amazon.com, but its video is limited to a limited selection of TV shows and movies.
Hulu offers a better deal for the cheapest $8.99 per month ($8.69 for the year), but it also offers a lower internet speed than Netflix.
5.
Netflix Plus.
NetflixPlus is the next-best option to Hulu Plus, with no monthly fee and a much higher speed than Hulu Plus with the same subscription.
6.
Netflix Unlimited.
Netflix has a limited number of TV channels, and the service is available only on devices that support the standard that Netflix supports.
Hulu doesn’t offer the best video quality, but if you’re in the market for a cheaper streaming service it’s still the best choice.
7.
HBO GO.
HBOGo is the internet video streaming platform from which most of the major US TV channels are streamed.
HBO has a much slower internet speed, but HBOGo does offer an HBO Go subscription.
8.
Vudu.
Vubu is a digital video recorder that provides a much more reliable internet connection than a traditional video recorder, and unlike a TV service, Vubus has no ads.
Vubs is available for most devices, but most Vubs users get the most quality video at the lowest price.
9.
HBO NOW.
HBONOW is a free online video service from which you can watch TV shows in HD and stream to other devices via your smartphone or tablet.
The best part about HBONOW, and why it’s the best value, is that you can rent HBO’s entire library of TV programs at once for as little as $25 a month, which is the lowest of the streaming services.
10.
Hulu Unlimited.
Hulu has a slow internet speed of less than 10Mbps, but Hulu Unlimited has the best quality of any of the other streaming services, which makes it a great option for those with slow connections.
